can be set for a failed
aspiration.

Volatile liquids
like acetone and methanol
can be extremely difficult
to pipette using air
displacement. These
liquids tend to vaporize
in the tip which raises
the air pressure resulting
in liquid dripping from
the tip. ZEUS is equipped
with Anti-Droplet Control
(ADC). When enabled,
the pressure is monitored
in the tip. As the pressure
rises, the piston is
retracted to equalize
the pressure and prevent
dripping. The illustrations

The measurements were done with Hamilton
Verification Solution (deionized water
with 0.1% NaCl and 0.01% Tween detergent)
using standard CO-RE conductive tips.
A new tip was used for each pipetting
cycle (aspiration and dispense). At
least 10 points were taken for each
volume and pipetting module. Volumes
>20 ¥ìL were dispensed in jet mode.
Volumes ¡Â20¥ìL were dispensed in surface
mode. Results may vary using other liquid
or environmental conditions.
